Stifle Arthroscopy
Stifle arthroscopy is excellent for treatment of osteochondrosis dissecans (OCD). Both stifles may be treated at the same surgery and with minimal discomfort. Stifle arthroscopy is also very useful in the treatment of damaged menisci in previously repaired cranial cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. Arthroscopic repair of cranial cruciate ligament ruptures can be performed, however the clinical results have not been as good as with the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO). Undiagnosed cases of stifle lameness can be also be evaluated arthroscopically.
