Many advances have been made in the management of osteoarthritis in small animals. An approach that combines medications, natural supplements, weight management and physiotherapy is used. The emphasis is to use as little medication as possible, slow the progression of arthritis and to increase the activity level and comfort of the patient. Immune Mediated Arthritis These cases of arthritis are caused by immune mediated processes. The body's own immune system causes the problem.
